Crowns. Bridge-like prosthesis. Removable dentures. Veneers.

Orthopedic dentistry or dental prosthetics is one of the main fields of the clinic's work. Unfortunately, over time, carries disease destroys most of the solid tissues of the tooth and it becomes impossible to restore them with the help of photopolymer restoration (when chewing, a tooth with a massive photopolymer restoration is heavily loaded, which causes its destruction). If most of the solid tissues are destroyed, the prosthodontist will recommend you a prosthesis. If one tooth is covered with an artificial crown, the adjacent teeth will not be damaged and the prosthesis will improve the chewing function, giving you the ability to eat without concern, even solid food.

If it is a question of restoration of the chewing function after the loss of one or more teeth, you will be offered a restoration with a bridge-like prosthesis. It got its name because it resembles a bridge: the support crowns are fixed on the teeth adjacent to the defect like bridge supports are fixed on the banks of the river. This design has a significant drawback: to install it, it is necessary to mill more than half of the healthy solid tissues of the adjacent teeth, which means an increased risk of traumatic damages of these teeth. In each case, there is a high risk of tooth loss. Another traumatic factor is the excessive load of the device on the supporting teeth while chewing. These factors limit bridge-like prosthesis application, while implantation is a more preferred method.

In cases where the defect of the dental arch cannot be restored by the methods mentioned above, a removable denture is used. Removable dentures are of different types and a doctor decides on the choice of the prosthesis, guided by indications and contraindications in each particular case. In our clinic, we use the most up-to-date hypoallergenic materials and we can manufacture special, ultra-thin prostheses for patients with oral mucosa problems.

However, we do not always use prosthetic designs only in case of tooth solid tissue loss. A separate sector is aesthetic prosthetic designs. When are they used? They are used in cases when a cosmetic defect of the tooth solid tissues cannot be restored with photopolymer or such restoration will not give the desired results with respect to color, form, or reliability. Then veneers come to the rescue.

Veneers are ceramic pads on the tooth front surface. They allow obtaining a perfect result thanks to their great aesthetics and very small thickness compared to conventional ceramic designs. Many of our patients consider their veneers aesthetically better than their own teeth.

Special material and technology, which are used in the manufacture of veneers, make them highly durable. Therefore, you can eat, smile and talk with veneers just like with "your own" teeth.

Thanks to their small thickness, veneers produce minimal damage to the tooth solid tissues and it allows preserving their viability. Each veneer is made individually by a dental technician and is fixed on the tooth surface with a special transparent cement. At the time of the veneer manufacture in the laboratory, your teeth are covered with temporary designs, so you do not feel discomfort during the waiting time.
